Sue Stemp

Sue Stemp is an English womenswear designer based in Los Angeles, where she launched ST.ROCHE, the ethically-made brand, with her partner Paud Roche in 2014.

Stemp has extensive industry experience having worked for Daryl K, Tocca and Alexander McQueen among others. In 2005, she launched her namesake label with Paud, which sold successfully internationally, was shown on the runway during New York Fashion Week and attracted a celebrity following.

In 2009, Stemp moved from New York to Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles with her family. Now a working mother of two, she felt she no longer had a wardrobe versatile enough for her lifestyle and found a real need in the market for relaxed, feminine, unique clothes that are affordable, cool and sustainably produced.

Drawing on their global influences, personal style and ethics, Stemp and Roche launched the ST.ROCHE brand with a Resort 2015 collection. They work with carefully selected, family-run manufacturing partners in India, Peru and Los Angeles who are committed to ethical labor practices and responsible, high quality manufacturing. The collections are made as much as possible from GOTS-certified organically grown cottons, consciously sourced natural fibers and eco-friendly fabrics. Relaxed shapes and original textile designs put a modern spin on traditional artisanal skills and beautiful hand-crafted details.

ST.ROCHE is committed to consciously choosing the responsible eco-option wherever possible when designing and making their clothes.

Sue Stemp has been a CFDA Member since 2008.
