Reed Krakoff

Reed Krakoff is an American designer with a career that spans over 25 years. After receiving his degree in Fashion Design from Parsons The New School of Design in New York, Krakoff began designing for classic American design houses such as Anne Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Krakoff became known throughout the industry for his time spent with iconic accessories brand, Coach, and spent most of his 16 years with the company as President and Executive Creative Director. He is recognized for revamping and reviving Coach’s image, as well as driving the brand’s sales from $500 million to $5 billion. In 2010, Krakoff launched his eponymous line of women’s ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes and accessories. In Spring 2016, an extension of his line debuted at Kohl’s in a guest designer collaboration.

Krakoff’s contributions to the industry have been recognized with such distinctions as being elected vice president of the CFDA in 2007, where he remained for three years, as well as being honored three times throughout his career with the CFDA award for Accessories Designer of the Year. He remains on the board of the CFDA and currently serves as Head of Admissions. He has also been recognized several times throughout his career for various awards from The Accessories Council. Krakoff is a passionate patron and supporter of the arts and was honored with the Whitney Museum of American Art award in 2013. He also serves on the board at his alma mater, Parsons The New School for Design, and is a mentor to young designers participating in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
