Marcia Patmos

Merging the realms of fashion with art and design, Marcia Patmos crafts a modern yet timeless luxury by creating garments intended to be worn for years, not single seasons. Her aim is to provide an elevated, easy-wearing wardrobe comprised of beautifully made clothing with just as much comfort as a well-worn pair of jeans and favorite tee.

After honing her skill at the Rhode Island School Of Design and working in the New York fashion industry for several years, Patmos, along with her good friend Tina Lutz, came together to found Lutz & Patmos, a collection of sweaters, separates and accessories that merged the highest quality of cashmere fibers with timeless silhouettes for a refreshing take on modern luxury.

Following 10 successful years in business with Lutz & Patmos, Patmos made the decision to launch her own collection, M.PATMOS. Staying true to her perpetual love of art, architecture and design, she continues to find inspiration all around her from travel mementos to flea market finds. She firmly believes that a new color palette, seam shape, or unique construction technique is always close at hand, waiting to be discovered.

Incorporating strength, ease and grace into each of her designs; she also implements production techniques that are socially conscious and eco-friendly. By incorporating artisan involvement into established methods of production, Patmos’s collections exhibit sleek, modern and thoughtfully handcrafted elements all at the same time. She greatly appreciates each artisan’s unique process, and employs their craftsmanship to bring new relevance and preciousness to her practice.

Recognized for her conscious and innovative design principles, Marcia Patmos was named winner of the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation and Lexus Eco-Challenge awards in 2011, as well as the International Woolmark Prize in 2015. In 2012, M.PATMOS was named one of the world’s 50 most innovative companies by fast company in its fashion division alongside Ralph Lauren, Uniqlo, Kenzo, and Levi’s. In addition to her numerous awards, she continues involvement in an ongoing series of collaborations with brands and artists such as Club Monaco, Selima Optique, Ryan McGinness and more. Recently, she has delved into the world of home goods adding new dimension to her inventive line.
