Libby Edelman

Libby Edelman has worked in the fashion industry as a fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar and Seventeen, From the magazines, she was the p.r. director for Calvin Klein. Once she met her husband, Sam Edelman, she centered her fashion sensibilities on the shoe industry. She worked with Sam in putting Esprit in the shoe business for five years and designed and managed the Esprit kids shoe business as well. Libby along with Sam then started Sam and Libby shoes and built it into a household name designing and selling millions of shoes to women who had other things to spend their money on. Libby and Sam sold Sam and Libby in ’96 to another shoe company and retired for a few years. Five years ago, once again, Libby and Sam started the company Edelman shoe Inc.

Together they design “Sam Edelman” and sell the shoes to Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Cusp and over 400 independent boutiques.

Under the Edelman shoe banner, Libby has designed the Libby Edelman line of shoes out in the stores spring ’09.
