Lana Marks

Lana Marks, CEO and owner of her own eponymous exotic leather accessories brand and the sole designer of the LANA MARKS Collections, is renowned for her cross-continental style and ultra-luxe approach.

The idea for a luxury exotic leather fashion brand was born in 1987, when Marks and her husband were invited to a birthday celebration for Queen Elizabeth II aboard the Royal Yacht Brittania. A search for a red alligator handbag led Marks to conclude that a gap existed in the marketplace for luxury, fine exotic leather handbags in fabulous colors. And thus, Marks devoted several years to studying the techniques of accessories design and Italian production, until 1988 when she launched her first design: a hot pink alligator lunchbox handbag.

Since that time, Marks’s designs have become a favorite of royalty, A-list celebrities and style-makers. One of Marks’ most coveted and iconic handbags remains The Princess Diana Handbag, which was commissioned by the late Princess of Wales herself, a dear client and later friend of Marks. The Cleopatra clutch, named for close friend Elizabeth Taylor, is a staple on the red carpet, worn by A-listers and Oscar winners.

While Marks has boutique locations around the globe, she has spent a significant amount of time expanding into prestigious locations in Asia and the Middle East in recent years. She most recently opened a Couture Studio in Palm Beach, Florida, where she has resided for more than 30 years.
