Keanan Duffty

Keanan Duffty is an award-winning designer, musician, educator and author of Rebel Rebel Anti-Style (Rizzoli, 2009). Duffty graduated from Central Saint Martin’s with a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors. In 2007 Duffty collaborated with David Bowie to create a Bowie inspired collection for Target. Duffty was invited to curate the fashion segment at the 2016 CFDA Awards Board of Director’s tribute to David Bowie.

Keanan Duffty moved to New York from London in 1993 and established his SoHo design studio and fashion label in 1998. Inspired by subversive street style, the collection was sold internationally to over 150 stores including Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Lane Crawford. From 2006 to 2009 his ‘England’s Dreaming’ label was sold at Target in a joint venture with Oxford Collections/Li & Fung.

Driven by constant evolution, Duffty has worked as design director/consultant with Aveda, Ben Sherman, Dr. Martens, Gola, Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B, KidRobot, Medicom Toy, Moods of Norway, Reebok and as contributing Fashion Editor at SOMA Magazine.

Duffty is a committed fashion educator and guest lecturer at Fashion Institute of Technology, Parsons, Marist, Drexel University, Fordham Fashion Law Institute, Hasting University and the Brooklyn Museum. From 2012 to 2015 Duffty was the Senior Academic Director of Fashion Merchandising at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He is a member of the CFDA Fashion Education Committee.
