Kay Unger

Fashion designer, entrepreneur and philanthropist Kay Unger has founded and managed four successful global fashion companies: The Gillian Group, Kay Unger New York, Kay J’s Pajamas, and Phoebe Couture. She created the Kay Unger Home collection for Bed, Bath & Beyond and also designed Kay Unger Eyewear. In 2012, she expanded her design efforts beyond the category of women’s clothing when she launched Kay Unger Design.

Kay’s service activities and honors include President of Fashion Group International, member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, founding member of the Committee of 200, first woman on The Boys and Girls Club of America’s Board of Directors and the City of Hope Cancer Hospital Spirit of Life Award. Kay is a committed trustee of the New School and Chairwoman of the Board of Governors at Parsons the New School for Design.

A committed philanthropist, she is CEO of The Kay Unger Family Foundation, mission of “venture philanthropy” supports cancer care and research along with scholarships for underprivileged youths talented in the arts.
