Joy Gryson

A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, Joy Gryson has worked for some of the biggest names in U.S. fashion; Liz Claiborne, Coach, and Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs. In 2006, designer Joy Gryson left Marc Jacobs to forge her own eponymous line. Inspired by beauty in contrasts and blurring the lines between masculine and feminine, Gryson has created her own signature look. In 2009 Gryson introduced a contemporary line of handbags named after her daughter – OLIVIA HARRIS by Joy Gryson – and most recently has launched CAPSULE by Joy Gryson a collection of luxurious “night” bags for fall 2011.

Among her many achievements, Gryson was nominated for CFDA’s Accessories Designer of the Year Award for Emerging Talent. Gryson was also asked by Harpers Bazaar to be part of their first-ever Accessories BAZAAR at Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week, showcasing her work alongside a handful of the world’s most promising accessories designers. Gryson has also collaborated with mass retailer Target as a guest designer.
