John Truex

John Truex has shared a calling in luxury leather goods with his longtime business partner Richard Lambertson since the 1990s. A well-proven expert in the design-build process, he co-founded Lambertson Truex in 1998 as an American-based purveyor of luxury handbags and accessories. He serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Creative Director of the luxury leather goods brand and under his stewardship, the brand came out of the gate fast and quickly became a force to be reckoned with. Its fan base included a roll call of high-profile celebrities, socialites and style savants. In 2000, Truex and Lambertson received the CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year.

Truex was recruited by Tiffany & Co in 2009 following its acquisition of Lambertson Truex. On his watch as Vice President and Design Director of the Tiffany Leather Collection, the business not only grew multi-fold but enjoyed numerous record-breaking successes and experienced several firsts, including the launching of men’s accessories.

Truex joined Shinola as Design Director of the brand’s leather goods division in 2014.  He was responsible for creating a new direction for both Men’s and Women’s.

Prior to Lambertson Truex’s 1998 launch, Truex held positions at Carlos Falchi and Nine West/ck Calvin Klein.

Truex and Lambertson relaunched the Lambertson Truex brand for Fall 2018.

John Truex has been a CFDA Member since 2000.
