Greg Chait

Toronto born Greg Chait began his career as an intern to Whitney Houston’s personal team at the age of 18. He then went to work under the West coast President of Arista Records and eventually landed a position at The Firm after graduation from the University of Arizona, where he created his own degree in Communication for the Entertainment Industry. While continuing to work at The Firm, Greg and the owners of Australian Brand KSUBI collectively decided to launch stateside. KSUBI became a global fashion brand with a strong presence and competitive distribution in the United States. A full-time partner by 2004, Greg eventually sold his shares in the beginning of 2007. Working with KSUBI, having entered the fashion world from entertainment, marked a crucial turning point in Greg’s career — and he founded THE ELDER STATESMAN. Beginning first with custom blankets, The ELDER STATESMAN, now in its sixth year of business, offers a wide range of product including knitted hats, ready-to-wear, accessories, home interior products and eyewear with an additional line, TYRO by tes, which offers the same level of integrity and style but at a lower price point. Most recently, Greg was named the Winner of the 2012 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
