Emily Adams Bode

Emily Adams Bode was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. After studying in Switzerland, she moved to New York and graduated from The Parsons School of Design and Eugene Lang College with a BA/BFA dual degree in menswear design and philosophy, graduating in 2013.

Bode became the first female designer to show at New York Men’s Week in February 2017, and in June 2019, she staged her first runway show at Paris Fashion Week Men’s. She is lauded for her ingenious use of thrifted materials and her rejigging of the American fashion vernacular.

Bode was awarded runner-up in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2018, and in 2019, she won the Emerging Designer of the Year title at the CFDA Awards. Forbes recently added her to their “30 Under 30” list in the Art & Style category, and she was an LVMH Prize Finalist in 2019. Finally, Bode is a Woolmark Prize finalist for 2020.

Bode has been a CFDA Member since 2019.
