Charlotte Neuville

A graduate of Williams College and Parsons School of Design, Charlotte Neuville began her career as Assistant Designer to Perry Ellis. She became Adrienne Vittadini’s Design Director two years later and, in 1985, launched her name brand, CHARLOTTE NEUVILLE, INC., to retailers including Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, and Harrods. Neuville received critical acclaim on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, CNN and in publications ranging from Women’s Wear Daily, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle to The New York Times, New York Magazine, Interview, and People.

In 1996, Neuville was recruited to transform Lerner New York retail chain into what ultimately became the $1 billion+ brand New York and Company. In 2005, she joined The Gap as Executive Vice President of Design (Men’s, Women’s, and Accessories) and was responsible for creating the record-breaking global brand PRODUCT (RED) for Bono, raising millions of dollars to combat the AIDS crisis in Africa. Earning a distinguished reputation as a brand visionary, color specialist, and trend forecaster, Neuville became one of a handful of executives as noted for her design skills as she is for her merchandising expertise.

She has since parlayed her successful 30-year career in fashion into realizing her dream— to create a couture cake design business. She graduated from the French Culinary Institute (now the International Culinary Center) in New York City in 2011, and completed an internship with master cake designer Ron Ben-Israel before opening her business, The Fashion Chef, in 2012.

Her couture cakes and chic confections represent what is possible when the pastry arts, fashion, and beauty merge into a visually compelling and equally sumptuous creation. With an extraordinary roster of high-profile clients, her work has been featured in the New York Times; O, The Oprah Magazine; Women’s Wear Daily; Vogue.com; InStyle.com; HuffPost Style; and American Cake Decorating and has garnered applause from fashionstas and foodies alike.

Charlotte Neuville has been a CFDA Member since 1986.
