One of the premier accessory designers in the country, Carolina Amato has been at the helm of the luxury accessories company that bears her name for more than 35 years. Her signature label of gloves, hats, scarves, wraps and other accessories for men and women can be found in the most prestigious department and specialty stores through the US as well as England, Japan, Canada and South Korea.
Her designs are regularly featured in Vogue, Elle, W, Harpers Bazaar, Town & Country and Vanity Fair, to name just a few. In 2010 Carolina Amato licensed her name for a line of high end costume jewelry which is currently sold to Lord & Taylor and online at www.carolinaamatojewelry.com

A graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, Ms. Amato originally intended to be a painter. She was praised for her early work by colleagues who often cited her technique of strong, playful combinations of color, patterns and relief, a unique talent that would serve her well when she eventually turned her creative energies to fashion and accessories design.

Ms. Amato hails from a family of Italian textile professionals, a legacy that began with both her maternal and paternal grandmothers, each of whom were skilled craftswomen in New York’s garment center. Her grandfather made a living as a furniture upholsterer and the designer recalls her childhood filled with days spent playing with the ribbons, trims and fine fabrics that adorned her grandparent’s workshop. As a young woman, she learned to sew on her grandmother’s sewing machine, an experience she would ultimately utilize as she entered the creative world of fashion design.
