Autumn Adeigbo

Ethical fashion entrepreneur Autumn Adeigbo started a colorful, women-focused fashion brand with the vision of positively impacting the lives of women in Africa and the United States. Adeigbo became inspired to become a fashion designer by watching her Nigerian mother sew the clothes she wore as a little girl. She was voted “best dressed” in the 4th grade.
After attending Spelman College, where she attained an Economics degree, then Parsons School of Design, where she received a degree in Fashion Design. Adeigbo worked her way up from intern to associate working under top A-List fashion stylists in Hollywood. She launched a collection of seven African-inspired dresses while hostessing at NYC hot spots and pitching her collection to magazine editors as she sat them at their tables to dine.
She launched her collection with the tag line culture | color | conscience – which is the guiding principle.
CULTURE “Global/diversity minded brand with the mission of creating positive impact and connecting women across cultures.”
COLOR “Our girl is the bright spot of every room she enters. The collection is inspired by living and dressing in vibrant color.”
CONSCIENCE “Our ethical clothing is manufactured in the USA in women-owned factories.”
The brand pays fair-trade wages to Indian artisans for hand-beading and embroidery, and allocates a percentage of sales to at-risk teens in U.S. foster care and nonprofits. The pre-order model reduces waste.
Adeigbo is the 36th Black woman to raise $1M venture capital for a company and the 1st black woman to raise $1M in venture capital for a fashion brand. Her designs are available at Nordstrom, Intermix, Shopbop, Rent The Runway, Anthropologie, and Tory Burch. Fans of the collection include Kerry Washington, Gabrielle Union, Zooey Deschanel, Kristen Bell, Mindy Kaling, Amanda Gorman, and Busy Phillips. She enjoys writing in her spare time and had a column about her start up journey on Forbes.com.
Autumn Adeigbo is a CFDA Member since 2021.
