Milano Unica

Milano Unica, the international textile fair from Milan, was created from the quality and tradition of Italy’s most prestigious production mills. Held bi-annually in Milan and introduced to China in 2012 and New York in July 2015, the show is composed of top-tier “Made In Italy” exhibitors divided into; Ideabiella, Moda and Shirt Avenue. Overseen by President, Ercole Botto Poala, the textile event offers a sophisticated grouping of fabrics and textiles, with the fundamental goal of supplying Italian history, craftsmanship and technique to the world’s most important markets. Milano Unica is synonymous with singularity, exclusivity and unification.
The CFDA partners with Milano Unica on The Fabric Program. The program, now in its second season, connects American designers with Italian mills to learn ‘Made in Italy’ production techniques and create unique textiles for their collections. Each year Milano Unica, together with the CFDA, awards three American designers with the opportunity to to connect and develop fabrics with some of Italy’s finest mills, enabling them to produce unique collections and build their businesses. The first group of participating designers included Ryan Roche, Gigi Burris, and Orley.
