Ten rapid-fire question’s with Lisa Mayock and Jeff Halmos, the CFDA Members behind new brand MONOGRAM. The couple’s shared love of graphic design, poster art, and vintage T-shirts led them to create a new brand together, their first collaborative effort outside of starting a family.
CFDA.com: What sparked the idea, the name?
Jeff Halmos: “Lisa has a huge collection of vintage graphic T-shirts and sweatshirts. A few months back, she told me she was having a hard time finding new ones that captured the same feeling as her favorites from thrift stores. So we started talking, then decided to get to work on making our own. For the name, we were looking for one that didn’t necessarily feel like it was specific to a clothing brand. Could be a record label, design studio, magazine, etc.”
