Michelle Ochs on Creating Tate McRae’s Custom Hervé Léger Look

August 27, 2025

“Bandage and nostalgia is having such a comeback,” said Hervé Léger creative director Michelle Ochs while discussing the creative process behind making a custom look for Tate McRae’s Miss Possessive tour.

The CFDA member looked to archival collections and was particularly inspired by the spring 2009 collection designed by Max and Lubov Azria, which featured sexy monokinis and bikinis in signature bandage, a technique which has become synonymous with the French house.

Ochs, appointed to lead Hervé Léger in 2023, continues to revive the brand through innovative ways, ushering in a new, modern era that has gained virality fueled by Gen Z’s renewed interest in the brand, making this collaboration a no-brainer for her.

“Tate was looking for something strong and impactful for the stage,” Ochs said.

The result was full of power, and had lots of presence. And there could be more moments between the two, as the CFDA member hinted that we should “stay tuned, because there could be more looks for Tate is custom Hervé Léger.”
