Gap Inc. to Receive Innovation Award Presented by Amazon Fashion
October 22, 2026
Gap Inc. is the recipient of the fifth annual Innovation Award presented by Amazon Fashion.
The Amazon Fashion Innovation Award honors visionaries driving innovation in product, branding, and storytelling, redefining how consumers discover, experience, and connect with fashion today.
Founded in 1969 in San Francisco, Gap Inc. is home to four of the world’s most iconic apparel brands: Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, and Athleta.
Today, Gap Inc. is reimagining what a brand portfolio can be—combining product innovation and powerful storytelling to shape culture and inspire a new generation of consumers.
Across its brands, bold creative collaborations are redefining American style: Gap with Hailey Bieber and Harlem’s Fashion Row, Old Navy with Altuzarra, Banana Republic with La Ligne, and GapStudio at the Oscars. That creative energy extends beyond fashion into music, art, and entertainment—from Gap’s Individuals of Style portraits and its record-breaking Better in Denim campaign with Katseye to Old Navy’s cinematic fall denim campaign starring Cardi B and the latest partnership with emerging boy band JYT—Gap Inc. is creating cultural moments that resonate with consumers in entirely new ways.
Gap Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Richard Dickson and Gap Inc. Creative Director Zac Posen will accept the award on behalf of the company.
Demi Moore will present the award.
“Amazon Fashion is proud to recognize Gap Inc. for its lasting impact on American fashion. Few companies have had such a profound influence on how each generation dresses while continuing to evolve with the changing language of style. By pairing iconic American design with bold creative campaigns and world-class collaborations, Gap Inc. continues to help customers express themselves through the clothes they wear,” said Jenny Freshwater, Vice President of Amazon Fashion and Fitness.
“Gap Inc.’s brands have helped define American style for generations, and we’re building on that legacy to shape what comes next,” Dickson said. “The most enduring brands don’t just reflect culture, they help move it forward. Across our portfolio, we’re pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation—from the products we design to the stories we tell and the unexpected ways we bring fashion, entertainment and culture together. This recognition is a credit to the talented teams and partners bringing that vision to life and creating new ways to inspire and connect with customers around the world.”
“At Gap Inc., our teams are reimagining American style, and we’re honored to be recognized by the CFDA,” Posen said. “Innovation, community and emotional connection is at the heart of everything we do—from product and storytelling to every brand and retail experience. For us, innovation in fashion isn’t about inventing what’s never been seen; it’s about making the clothes everyone knows feel essential in a new way.”
The CFDA Fashion Awards, presented by Amazon Fashion, will take place on Monday, November 2, 2026 at the American Museum of Natural History.
