Forty-Five Years of Nicole Miller: A Tribute

October 22, 2026

Forty-five years in fashion is no small feat – but Nicole Miller has never been one to follow the rules.

On Wednesday evening, the CFDA member kicked off her 45th anniversary with a 15-piece collection for spring 2027, presented in the Piano Room at New York’s Hotel Chelsea.

The collection revisited archival favorites and reimagined them: the baseball dress, worn by Geena Davis to the 1992 premiere of A League of Their Own, came in sequins; new New York taxi prints; and a strapless dress made with her novelty neckties – with guests such as Nicky Rothschild Hilton,  Luann de Lesseps, Candace Bushnell, Erin Walsh, Brandon Blackwood, and Laquan Smith admiring the creations.

Since establishing her namesake label with business partner Bud Konheim in 1982, Miller has carved out her own space in American fashion with a melange of Parisian sophistication, downtown New York attitude, and playful irreverence.

Trained at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, she developed an aesthetic that is all her own. Her designs became a fixture of New York’s fashion scene – supermodels like Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss all walked in her shows – and also translated into commercial success –  and the early-days dress business evolved into ready-to-wear, accessories, fragrance, and home. She developed 38 licensed categories along the way.

Miller’s sense for color, print, femininity, and individuality has always been unmistakably her own.

Miller’s anniversary underscores the enduring power of a creative point of view. Forty-five years later, Nicole Miller is still doing things her way.

Congratulations!
