Thursday night marked the opening of the Dezso by Sara Beltran pop-up shop at Target Gallery in Chelsea. Beltran, a former CFDA {Fashion Incubator} designer, collaborated with Target for the weekend shop filled with one-of-a-kind jewelry, artwork, sculptures, furniture and found items from her extensive travels. CFDA.com checked in with the designer about the pop-up shop and what to expect there.
CFDA.com: What can people find at your Target popup?
Sara Beltran: Not only will the pop-up shop have my jewelry but also my art, an array of home goods, limited–edition hand-painted and embroidered Target items and finds from my travels around the world
CFDA.com: What’s your favorite piece?
S.B.: My jewelry which is handmade in Jaipur and custom designed chairs inlayed with shark fins
CFDA.com: How would you describe your style?
S.B.: Eccentric extreme, Mexico meets India, craft obsessed, detail and design focused, elegant.
CFDA.com: What are you most excited for this summer?
S.B.: I’m looking forward to taking some personal time off to travel to special places around the world with friends – it’s always very inspiring.
CFDA.com: What has been the best part about working with Target on this collaboration?
S.B.: I am very flattered to be selected by Target to showcase my designs and brand aesthetic. They really understand my vision and the world I wanted to share with everyone through this pop-up shop. Targets support through the CFDA {Fashion Incubator} program and throughout this project, has made an immeasurable difference to me as a designer.
