In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, CFDA member Alejandra Alonso Rojas staged a special presentation and cocktail at Misela’s Bond Street flagship for an evening celebrating female creativity, entrepreneurship, and the shared values that unite women-led brands.

Hosted by Misela Founder and Creative Director Serra Türker Bayır, the event brought together two designers committed to craftsmanship and storytelling through design. For five days, the boutique will showcase a curated selection of Alonso Rojas’ elegant silhouettes styled with Misela’s signature bags, highlighting a dialogue between fashion and accessories rooted in artisanal techniques and timeless design.

For Alonso Rojas, the moment carried particular significance as she prepares to welcome her first child, an experience that has deepened her reflection on what it means to be a woman today.

“I think this year I’m celebrating myself and other women,” she said. “Being a woman in many ways means being a warrior. You’re expected to accomplish the same things, but your body and your mind sometimes have to go through more—whether it’s recognition or constantly trying to prove something.”

The designer, who was born in Spain and is now based in New York, has built her namesake label around refined femininity and craftsmanship. As an immigrant shaping a career in the American fashion industry, she views her work as part of a broader conversation about opportunity, independence, and creative freedom.

“I feel very empowered to be able to transmit the message that even if you’re from abroad, you can build something,” she said. “Being able to choose and do what I love means the world to me, and I hope I can keep fighting for that for other women who might not be as lucky.”

Her reflections also touched on the realities women face balancing ambition, creativity, and personal well-being—particularly during transformative life moments.

“We don’t need to fall into the story that we can do everything all the time,” she said. “Sometimes you need to slow down to become more powerful afterwards. When I go through these moments, I actually feel more creative and more connected with myself and with the world.”

Guests gathered inside the Bond Street boutique to preview the pieces while enjoying wine from RGNY, a women-led winery on Long Island—another nod to the evening’s theme of female collaboration and support.

The presentation will remain on view at Misela’s Bond Street boutique (25 Bond Street) through Sunday, March 15, offering visitors the opportunity to discover Alejandra Alonso Rojas’ designs alongside Misela’s collections in an intimate retail setting celebrating the influence of women-led brands during Women’s History Month.
