Abby Jasmine is a new face to many, but chances are she won’t be for long. The New York-bred rapper and singer is one of the city’s rising artists, and the release of latest project “Who Cares” will help cement her status as someone to closely watch.

Today, she has unveiled the newest video to her standout track, “Poland Springs,” which arrives with a charitable tie-in. The artist is encouraging fellow talent, as well as outlets and fans to donate to The Water Project with the ‘Drink Your Water’ campaign.

“The Inspiration behind this song was just positivity—knowing that pushing through is an option and is always going to get me to the other side,” she said. “A lot of people have mantras they like to say in the mirror when they’re going through it. I just tell myself the same thing, ‘drink your water, mind your business….’ I chose to support the water project because I’m human. We take a lot of things for granted. Other places don’t have the things we think are ‘basic.’ To be able to use the platform I have, as early as this in my career, to be a part of making change and helping out other humans just seemed like a project no brainer. I’m so grateful to be in a space where I can have a role in a project like the Water Project.”

This is not the first time the artist has advocated for those in need. As part of her recent 22nd birthday celebrations, she called for her fans to make donations to bail funds of their choice in honor of the Black Lives Matter movement – showing she is dedicated to using her platform for good.

She is also set to make her splash in the fashion. Jasmine – who describes her style as “cozy luxe” – sports the work of American designers Heron Preston & Amiri in her recent video.

“Of the designers I’m wearing throughout the video, I can connect with Heron Preston the most,” she said. “He’s someone who looks like me, who got his start from his online work like me. He worked his way up, you have to admire the drive and evolution of his brand”.
