Dye Kween

Dye Kween is a woman-owned, full-service botanical dye house based in Maplewood, New Jersey, just outside New York City. We specialize in small-batch, bespoke natural colors and prints, working exclusively with natural fibers such as silk, wool, cotton, hemp, bamboo, and linen. Our focus in on bundle and eco-printing, but can also do vat and immersion dyeing. We work exclusively with natural fiber.
Our dyes and prints are handcrafted using locally grown flowers, plants, natural dye extracts, minerals, and even cochineal bugs. With a commitment to sustainability, many of our flower dyes come from our own dye garden in New Jersey, featuring blooms like Cosmos, Coreopsis, Marigold, and Scabiosa.
Every piece we create is a labor of love, dyed with care using seasonal, plant-based ingredients and a thoughtful, slow process. Our permanent, richly hued colors are derived from botanicals such as tree barks, indigo, and home-grown flowers, offering an eco-friendly and body-safe alternative to synthetic dyes.
When you collaborate with Dye Kween for garment or yardage dyeing, you can expect living colors with unique properties and subtle variations. We work closely with our clients to design patterns and palettes that bring their visions to life.
At Dye Kween, we craft textiles and garments meant to be worn close to your skin, merging beauty, sustainability, and artistry to enhance your everyday life.
