Eco-modulation

Because of eco-modulation, producers have fees based on their product’s environmental design and impact. The more sustainable choices, including the use of less packaging and increased recycled content and recyclability, result in lower fees or bonuses. Less sustainable materials result in producers playing higher fees or penalties. The goal of eco-modulation is financially incentivizing companies to create more sustainable and environmentally friendly products to reduce waste and promote a circular economy.
