Year in Review: The CFDA’s 2015 Award Winners

December 21, 2015

As the year comes to a close, we take a moment to tip our hats off to the 2015 CFDA winners.

On June 1, the best and brightest in fashion were honored at the CFDA Fashion Awards.

Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen took home the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award for the Row. Tom Ford was named Menswear Designer of the Year, while Tabitha Simmons beat out the competition for Accessory Designer of the Year.

For the Swarovski Awards for rising talent, Rosie Assoulin won for Womenswear; Menswear went to Shayne Oliver for Hood by Air, and Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel of Mansur Gavriel got the trophy for Accessory Design.

Emerging designers are also at the core of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, and on  Nov.2, all eyes were on the next generation. In a CVFF first, there were three equal winners this year: Aurora James of Brother Vellies, Jonathan Simkhai, and Rio Uribe of Gypsy Sport. They each received a cash prize of $300,000 and a year’s worth of mentorship (ie. Neil Blumenthal for James, Michael Kors for Simkhai, and Wen Zhou for Uribe).

Congratulations to all!
