Words With (Fashion) Friends: Danuta Mieloch of Rescue Spa and Danucera

October 1, 2025

A visit to Rescue Spa—in New York and in Philadelphia—always feels like a true escape. That’s because Danuta Mieloch, its founder as well as the creator of the Danucera skincare line, has perfected the art of, in her words, “a form of self-respect and daily ritual, not vanity…combining European tradition with modern innovation.”

For more than 30 years, Mieloch has fused medical precision with the French art of beauty and her own forward-thinking approach. Her signature Bio-Lift Facial has earned international acclaim, while Danucera’s revolutionary Cerabalm continues to push the boundaries of skincare. “Beautiful skin is a matter of choice, not chance,” she says.

In time for this weekend’s Americans in Paris showcase, which Danucera is a supporter of, Danuta sat down with us to talk skincare, beauty, and the intersection of fashion and wellness.

What inspired you to get into the beauty and skincare industry?

I’ve always been fascinated by transformation—how small, consistent rituals can completely change not only the skin but also how we feel about ourselves. Growing up in Poland, skincare was seen as a form of self-respect and daily ritual, not vanity. When I came to New York, I wanted to bring that philosophy with me, combining European tradition with modern innovation. That passion became both my career and my mission.

What is the philosophy behind Danucera?

Danucera is built on the idea that less is more, but it has to be the best. It’s about purity, effectiveness, and ritual. Each product is clean, results-driven, and designed to work synergistically. The philosophy is simple: skincare should be intuitive, luxurious, and transformative without overwhelming the skin or the person using it.

How has skincare evolved since you launched the brand?

There’s a growing awareness that true beauty is about health and consistency, not chasing endless trends. When I launched Danucera, I wanted to offer a timeless ritual—five essential steps that work across all skin types and ages. Today, people are gravitating towards this simplicity and craving authenticity. It’s no longer about the “skincare buffet,” but about products and routines that truly deliver.

Describe your everyday skincare routine.

I always start and end my day with the Danucera ritual: Cerabalm for a double cleanse, D22 Tonic to refine and brighten, Master Mask a few times a week for that red-carpet glow, followed by Mega Serum, Cream Supreme, and of course, the Iconic Eye Cream. It’s five minutes, five steps—and it’s my grounding ritual, no matter where I am in the world.

Is there one Danucera skincare product you can’t live without?

Cerabalm. It’s the heart of the ritual and the product I dreamed of for years. It removes makeup, deeply cleanses, nourishes, and can even be used as a mask. It’s multitasking, transformative, and embodies everything Danucera stands for.

During NYFW, Danucera supported American designers such as Kate Barton and Daniella Kallmeyer. Where do you see the intersection of skincare and fashion?

Both are about expression, confidence, and timeless style. A glowing complexion is the ultimate accessory—it enhances everything you wear. Skincare and fashion share the same artistry: when done right, both elevate the person without overpowering them. Supporting designers who share that ethos feels natural for us.

This is the first season joining the Americans in Paris showroom. What are you looking forward to the most at the showroom and in Paris?

Paris is the epicenter of beauty and fashion, and for me, it feels like a return to my European roots. I’m looking forward to introducing Danucera to a global audience in such a prestigious setting, connecting with visionaries, and celebrating the marriage of tradition and modernity. Most of all, I look forward to seeing how our ritual resonates with women in Paris—women who understand instinctively that skincare is not just about looking good, but about feeling radiant and empowered.
