In recognition of Women’s History Month, the CFDA identified three talented professionals from various different disciplines who honor the craft and artisanship of design and who support and uplift the work of other women. This year’s national theme is Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories, which aligns beautifully with the first woman featured in this series: Emily Adams Bode Aujla. Bode is the founder and designer of Bode, a luxury menswear brand that expresses a sentimentality for the past through the study of personal narratives and historical techniques. In conversation with Zack Winokur, stage director and producer who works between dance, opera, and musicals, Bode shares what motivates her as a designer and businesswoman and the women past and present who inspire her practice.
