Brian Wolk and Claude Morais
Once upon a time, Brian Wolk and Claude Morais were New Yorkers, having their made their mark on fashion with the charming Ruffian label. In Los Angeles for a while now, the city’s cinematic spirit has clearly rubbed off on the designers behind Wolk Morais. The CFDA members presented their new collection with an uber-cool short film they called “Driven.” The driving tour of their chosen city touches on the people of different LA neighborhoods and powerfully captures their thoughts at this time of lockdown and civil unrest. The dress code was Wolk Morais, of course, with tailoring at the core of many looks. Standouts included suits with slouchy pants in menswear, and puffed sleeve blouses for women, which were particularly striking when teamed with a double-breasted fitted waistcoat and wide leg pants.
The collection is completely sustainable, sourced locally and made in LA with upcycled fabrics. It’s a quintessential expression of LA cool.
