TUMI has a special treat in store: eight unique tote bags customized by each Americans in Paris designer — and eight lucky people get the chance to win one through an online contest at www.TUMI.com.
This year’s designers – all 2015 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists showing their fall collections at Espace Commines – are Thaddeus O’Neil, Gypsy Sport’s Rio Uribe, Brother Vellies’ Aurora James, Cadet’s Raul Arevalo and Brad Schmidt, CG’s Chris Gelinas, David Hart, Chromat’s Becca McCharen, and Jonathan Simkhai. TUMI challenged each to customize a disassembled women’s leather tote from creative director Michael Petry’s first collection for the brand for fall-winter 2016.
Petry collaborated with each designer to individualize the bags in their own aesthetic style using materials such as leather appliquès, paint, grommets, fur, and rubber. The special designs were then hand-assembled in a Brooklyn factory. “There’s nothing more empowering to a designer than to be given creative liberties in a design challenge,” Petry said. “Everyone really stepped up to the plate and their hard work shows.”
Visit www.Tumi.com and enter to win one of the totes now through Tuesday, March 8
