Willy Chavarria Fall 2021 Look 1

Designer Willy Chavarria stays true to his roots and keen point of view. Fall 2021 builds off the traditions of the brand, pulled from cholo, chicano, and pachuco culture. His signature exaggerated wide-leg pants are paired with oversized, boxy shirts, sporty nylon frocks, and sweatsuits layered under sustainably-made trench coats — to help ward off environmental depression.

Chavarria’s collection video opens with a mock male model casting call under pseudonym WillyChavarria.men — a play on gay internet films. Models strip their layers of clothing in an interesting commentary on masculinity — which helps crown the name of his collection “Real Men.” If only people saw gender as big an irony as Chavarria does.
