Who knew there such a campy spirit drifting through American design rooms? At Monday night’s Met Gala, CFDA members pulled out all the stops for a tour de force showing of camp clothes that was fun, frivolous, and unforgettable— starting with Lady Gaga’s Babushka doll-like reveal of four different Brandon Maxwell looks and ending with Cardi B’s majestic entrance in Thom Browne. In between, there was plenty to see, from Zendaya’s Disney Princess moment courtesy of Tommy Hilfiger to Celine Dion’s showstopping Showgirl thanks to Oscar de la Renta.
