Week of Solidarity Supports Garment Workers in Bangladesh

January 28, 2019

We all remember the 2012 fire and Rana Plaza building collapse that killed well over 1,000 people in Bangladesh. The tragic events shed light on the working conditions of garment workers- many of whom create apparel for the American and European markets.

Years on, the conditions are still dire. Clean Clothes Campaign proclaimed this a Week of Solidarity with the workers, drawing worldwide attention to their plight and using the hashtag #WeStandWithGarmentWorkers.

Fair wages and safe working conditions are of extreme importance to CFDA’s sustainability mission. Read more about the Week of Solidarity and ways you can support it here.
