The vibe at Monday’s Todd Snyder party, held at his new Madison Square Park flagship store, could aptly be described as the calm before the storm. For those lucky enough to be able to break away from their seemingly non-stop New York Fashion Week: Men’s preparation, Snyder offered a reprise from the anticipation and whirlwind that blows in full swing when a new season of NYFW: Men’s is upon us. The mid-day soiree encouraged guests to stop and take a breath. Freshly made green juice and a mouth-watering lunch spread at the shop’s in-house café, complimentary trims and shaves from the in-house barber, and fittings held by the Master Tailor contributed to the experience.Indeed, prepping for fashion week was the unofficial theme of the gathering. Colton Haynes and Dale Moss, two of this season’s ambassadors, were treated to bespoke tailored suits by Snyder and his team. For Haynes, the free threads came as a much needed wardrobe addition. “I barely packed anything for this week!” he admitted.
Moss said that he’d wanted to be more involved in NYFW: Men’s for some time. “I’m really looking forward to this,” he stated. “There’s such a range of talent, too.” Indeed, the roster for this season includes a notable variety of designers, from established names like Raf Simons and Billy Reid to emerging talent like Dyne and Kenneth Ning.
Snyder himself was sure to take his own time to prepare (albeit surrounded by reporters and guests eager for a picture), and sat for a shoeshine, perched above his guests in a space that he is clearly proud of.
