After launching a new website and championing a charitable business model, Vita Fede’s plans for expansion continue into 2019. The jewelry label known for its contemporary designs has ventured into the eyewear category. The six styles, from dainty frames with intricate cutouts to thick-framed bold silhouettes, seamlessly blend in with the brand’s  aesthetic.

“It was a natural next step for Vita Fede,” Founder and Designer Cynthia K. Sakai stated. “We custom-cut lenses in subtly different colors, almost like jewels, to fit together into the frames of the Sorrento and Manhattan styles. The entire line can be paired effortlessly with the necklace-inspired frame chains we developed, and Manhattan and Sorrento styles incorporate spaces in the stems through which the wearer’s own earrings can be worn.”

Inspired by her mother and grandmother’s collection of vintage frames, Sakai’s designs blur the lines between jewelry and eyewear. Intricate details, from the discrete logo to her signature titan cone tips encased within acrylic stems, give each frame a special touch.

“To me,” she said, “jewelry has a broad definition – of course it be could be a necklace, in the traditional sense of the word, but to me it could also be a Line Vautrin mirror, Salvador Dali table or Fontana Arte light fixture. The sunglasses are an extension of this. They offer one more way to wear jewelry.”
