Though the Costume Institute’s Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between exhibition is thoroughly Japanese, there was plenty of memorable American fashion at Monday’s Met Ball. Take, for example, Solange’s cool black Thom Browne puffer coat with matching train or Priyanka Chopra’s custom Ralph Lauren trench coat reworked into a chic gown. Courtney Love and Frances Bean Cobain rocked it in Marc Jacobs, while Paris Jackson’s elegant turn in Calvin Klein By Appointment.
