November marked a milestone moment for Ashlynn Park. First, she took home the American Emerging Designer of the Year trophy at the CFDA Fashion Awards. One week later to the day, she took home the top CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize, further cementing her status as one of American fashion’s most compelling new voices.

To celebrate her standout season, Alina Cho hosted a gathering at Genesis House, bringing together a remarkable group — from Cynthia Rowley and Narciso Rodriguez to Christian Francis Roth, Christopher John Rogers, Sander Lak, and Edmundo Castillo.

“I love an early December cocktail because it’s so festive, but we’re not burned out, yet, from all of the holiday parties!” Cho said.  “But we are here for much more than a holiday cocktail and yummy bites from our friends at Genesis House. We are here to celebrate a double winner — Ashlynn Park of ASHLYN…

Ashlynn is the first designer to win both awards in the same year — quite an accomplishment. And as a fellow Korean American, I’m so proud of her!”

Cho first became aware of ASHLYN at a small store in Bridgehampton called Communitie.  Owner John Patrick said to me, “You have to try these pants on — they are the perfect black pants.” And they were. Because of the way it was pleated in the front, it looked like a skirt but it had the ease and comfort of pants. I still wear them today.”
