What inspired you to become a visual stylist and creative director?
As a student in high school, I knew I wanted to have some sort of career in fashion. I initially tried modeling but when that didn’t work out, I decided to try my hand at styling/creative directing. What I didn’t realize at the time was that I was truly stepping into my purpose.
What would you consider to be your greatest challenges?
I’m my own biggest critic, and I’m never satisfied. It creates an environment where I’m so focused on what the next goal is that I sometimes forget to stop and smell the roses. I’m learning every day to be better at that.
What words of wisdom would you offer to emerging creatives like you that want success in the fashion business?
Be adaptable. Fashion is forever changing. It’s like taking a road trip. You may get lost, you may even find yourself taking another route entirely, but as long as you stay the course you will eventually make it to your destination. I’d also say to be confident in your vision and what you bring to the table. Social media and its various platforms make it so easy to find ourselves in a space where we are constantly comparing ourselves to others without knowing their journey or acknowledging our own.
