The November 6 mid-term election was groundbreaking in ways we’re particularly excited about. Thirty-five women were elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for the first time, which brings the number of women representatives to more than 100. The House has 435 Representatives and this is the highest number of women ever in its 230-year history.
Gender equality is a pillar of the CFDA, and we hope to one day see a fully-balanced House. Until then, we love ELLE Magazine’s feature on the history-making women and the moment’s significance titled A Woman’s Place is in the House. Check it out!
