The Ultimate NYFW Guide to NYC

February 7, 2020

Nicky Campbell And Marc Karimzadeh

New York Fashion Week is here and while the Official New York Fashion Week Schedule is keeping everyone busy, there’s plenty to check out in between shows. Here’s our ultimate guide to all the New York things you can’t afford to miss this fashion week.

01 / 02

Mannequins from The World of Anna Sui.

What to See

The World of Anna Sui, Museum of Arts and Design; 2 Columbus Circle

Anna Sui and her divine world are truly magical. Check it out for yourself at this exhibition and don’t miss her in conversation with Tim Blanks on Feb.11.

In Pursuit of Fashion: The Sandy Schreier Collection; Met Museum; 1000 Fifth Avenue; (212) 535-7710

Fortuny, Adrian, Christian Francis Roth, and one fabulous graffiti-sequined Stephen Sprouse mini-dress are among the 80 or so pieces pioneering fashion collector Sandy Schreier gifted to the Costume Institute.

01 / 03

Veronika at Fotografiska.

Where to Eat

Veronika at Fotografiska; 281 Park Avenue South; Continental; (646) 993-6993

Recently open, this Eastern European-inspired eatery has been dubbed the beautiful restaurant in all of New York across social media. Check it out for yourself and pick up a book at Fotografiska on the way.

Omen; 113 Thompson Street; Soho; Japanese; (212) 925-8923

The best Japanese in town, and a favorite of fashion folks, who make this their regular haunt during fashion week and beyond.

Pastis; 52 Gansevoort Street; Meatpacking District; French; (212) 929-4844

After a few years away, Pastis is back in a new location around the corner from the original, and it’s as if nothing has changed since the days when Carrie drank Cosmos. There may even be an SJP sighting.

01 / 02

The Boogie Room at the Mondrian Park Avenue.

Where to Drink

The Boogie Room; Mondrian Park Avenue, 444 Park Avenue South; (212) 804-8880

The street art and retro vibe are very New York, and the cocktails are the best in NoMad. Named after a Piet Mondrian painting, the lounge won’t disappoint.

Indochine; 430 Lafayette Street; (212) 505-5111

Yes, we’ve been coming here to devour the French-Vietnamese fare for more than three decades, but don’t underestimate the cocktails – they’re as divine as the décor and crowd.

01 / 01

Cookies from Levain Bakery.

Lastly, for that Sweet Tooth…

Levain Bakery; multiple locations

They’re considered New York’s most famous cookies, and for good reason. The six-ounce cookies are the ultimate reward for those with a sweet craving or need for a pick-me-up – this is Chocolate Chip Walnut, Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip and Oatmeal Raisin bliss.
