Theophilio knows how to throw a party. In celebration of the closing of Caribbean Heritage Month and Pride in June, designer and creative director Edvin Thompson connected with Wray & Nephew, a favorite white rum that has been an integral part of Jamaica’s island’s culture for nearly 200 years.
The collaboration featured an exclusive Theophilio-designed silk scarf showcasing the vibrancy of Jamaican culture and a bashment party—an open space created for anyone in the community to celebrate their heritage on Sunday, June 30.
“I was so thrilled to be partnering with Wray & Nephew for this event, a staple part of my Caribbean heritage. We share the same ethos in bringing many communities together, celebrating our Jamaican roots, and creating memorable experiences like our bashment event,” said CFDA member Thompson. “We closed out Caribbean Heritage Month in style!”
Participating members were all of Caribbean descent, from deejays HuneyCut, Angel and Dren, Khalil and Silent Addy, to food vendors LoveLane, a Brooklyn-based Jamaican café, and floral installations from Jamaican-owned Olivee Floral.
Big ups!
