July 10, 2017

The fifth edition of New York Fashion Week: Men’s, which kicks off today, comes with some exciting news.

Raf Simons returns with his namesake label, showing the new collection on Tuesday evening. BOSS is also returning that day, and new names to watch are Gustav von Aschenbach by Robert Geller, Barbara Sanchez-Kane of SANCHEZ-KANE, Feng Chen Wang, Jack Miner of Hecho, Raul Lopez of LUAR, and Yixi Chen of C2H2 Los Angeles.

The NYFW: Men’s Accessory Showcase is back at Skylight Clarkson Sq, the hub of the shows. On Tuesday, FACTO and Miansai will exhibit their new designs. BURRIS by Gigi Burris and Title of Work will show their collections on Wednesday, and Scosha will conclude the showcase along with BURRIS on Thursday.

Throughout the week, watch the front rows for our NYFW: Men’s ambassadors Young Paris, Nate Berkus, Jeremiah Brent, Kelly Oubre Jr., Jon Batiste, Sean O’ Pry, and Chyno Miranda.

Cadillac is heightening its commitment to menswear for Spring/Summer 2018 by providing each designer showing at Cadillac House Platform 4 (P4) with an additional grant to help them bring their vision to life. Don’t miss the shows of Todd Snyder, Gustav von Aschenbach by Robert Geller, DYNE, Kenneth Ning, Matiere, LUAR, and Rochambeau there!

Make sure to also check out LIFEWTR’s gallery-like installation at Skylight Clarkson Sq. The new premium water brand is bringing a female perspective to the men’s shows by featuring the bold and abstract work of artists Trudy Benson, Lynnie Z, and Adrienne Gaither at the venue. The work is also on LIFEWTR’S Series 2 bottle labels.

Nordstrom, meanwhile, is partnering with the CFDA to support American menswear as it prepares for the opening of the Nordstrom Men’s Shop in New York in Spring 2018. We developed an exclusive content strategy with Nordstrom to give consumers with unique behind-the-scenes access to all the buzz and trends from the shows.

NYFW: Men’s is made possible with the support of the following companies: Cadillac, LIFEWTR, Axe, Samsung 837, Nordstrom, The Four Seasons Downtown, SKYY Vodka, The New York Times, WWD, Launchmetrics, Skylight Group, Tumblr, and Design Within Reach.

“This season of New York Fashion Week: Men’s continues to celebrate the creativity of new and emerging talent,” said Steven Kolb, President and CEO of the CFDA. “We thank our partners for their collective commitment to advancing American menswear and giving it the global platform it deserves.”
