The U.S. International Woolmark Nominees are Set

The Woolmark Company unveiled the 10 U.S. nominees for the 2016/2017 International Woolmark Prize.

For womenswear, the regional nominees are Gabriela HearstNellie Partow, Sally LaPointe, Monse (Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia) and Hellessy (Sylvie Millstein).

In menswear, they are Abasi Rosborough (Abdul Abasi and Greg Rosborough), Matiere (Scot Shandalove and Jake Zeitlin), Rochambeau (Laurence Chandler and Joshua Cooper) and Second/Layer (Ant de Padovane, Jacob Wills and Joshua Wills).

The CFDA serves as the official nominating body in the U.S. Each nominee is asked to present one Merino wool look and a six-piece capsule concept to determine two winners who will go on to compete in the International Woolmark Prize final with the other regional winners.

The USA regional award will take place in New York City this July,

The 2015/2016 U.S. regional winners were Tanya Taylor for womenswear and Siki Im for menswear. For the 2014/2015 award, Team USA took home both top prizes with M.Patmos for womenswear and Public School for menswear.
