Last night, the winners of the CFDA + Lexus Fashion* Initiative were unveiled at the Greenwich Hotel. After a 17-month sustainability journey, Erin Isakov of Erin Snow was awarded the grand prize for her commitment to a triple bottom line.
“Four or five years ago, sports wear would have never been included in an award like this,” Isakov said. “I’m so grateful and so thankful to be receiving this award tonight.”
She was with Wing Yin Yau of Wwake, and Maria Cornejo of Zero + Maria Cornejo, both of whom received the runners-up prize.
“It’s been like being back in school,” Cornejo expressed. “It’s been a lot of work, but totally worth it. I’m so glad to bring everyone along on the journey.”
The winning trio was joined by fellow finalists Aurora James, Sara Beltran, Katie DeGuzman and Michael Miller, Nicholas Kunz and Christopher Kunz, Prabal Gurung, Marina Polo and Britt Cosgrove, and Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo.
In addition to evolving their companies’ ethos, the winners were chosen on vision viability and potential of their strategic blueprints for impactful futures. Snow was awarded $150,000, while Cornejo and Yin Yau are taking home $50,000 each.
Rachel Espersen of Lexus made the announcement during cocktails at The Greenwich Hotel’s Tribeca Penthouse.
The room was full of excitement and gratitude with many expressing that the experience was an award in itself.
“The whole process was so rewarding,” Yau said. “The opportunity to build a community has been the most rewarding thing on every level.”
