At just 18 years old, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen set out to design the perfect white T-shirt. Crafted in the finest fabrics and designed for the perfect fit, the finished product ended up on the rack at Barneys New York, marked only by a delicate gold chain.

At the time, this was about as radical as you could get. It was 2006, when most Hollywood stars were sporting their boldest, brightest, and flashiest outfits. Think old school Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie and the cast of The Hills, then one of the highest-rated shows on television (the Kardashians were only just beginning).

Fast forward 15 years, and the Olsen twins have now built one of the most sought-after American fashion brands with The Row. The twin sisters established their place in the fashion industry with their sense of understated luxury that women can’t get enough of.
