Cali York – as in California and New York – is a word blend that Cynthia Rowley coolly uses on some of her designs, including items by her that are now available at The CFDA Loves The Holidays shop at the new Fred Segal on Sunset Boulevard. It’s perfectly suitable, really. We asked Rowley about Fred Segal and her favorite things about the holidays.

Why did you agree to participate in the CFDA Loves the Holidays shop?

Fred Segal + CFDA + our “surf leisure”…in the spirit of the holidays I love how collaborative it all is!

What do you love about the holiday season the most?

There’s so much to celebrate. Food, friends, family, fun, fashion 🙂

What’s your favorite holiday treat or dish?

My favorite holiday treat is a far-flung getaway. It’s usually a surf trip…so I am packing some new suits!

What CFDA Loves the Holidays item from one of the other designers will be on your wish-list this season?

The Gigi Burris fedora is a goodie! I would buy this for my daughter, Kit.
