It’s been a little over a year since designing husband-and-wife team Lisa Mayock and Jeff Halmos launched Monogram. Based on their love for T-Shirts, they have developed a quick cult following— which has been flocking to the CFDA Loves LA shop where their designs are available. In June 2016, Lisa Mayock co-founded MONOGRAM with her husband, Jeff Halmos. We talked to Mayock about LA, the new shop and what she hopes to splurge on there.

Why did you agree to participate in the CFDA Loves LA shop?

I’ve been shopping at Fred Segal since high school, and both of us have been members of the CFDA for many years. Having both these institutions partner together was a dream scenario for us. It was a no brainer that we’d participate as designers – and purchase a few things there, too.

What do you love about LA the most?

The year-round T-shirt weather!

What is the one must-have item of yours available in the shop?

As someone who wears a T-shirt literally every day, it’s hard to pick just one. I love our Enfant Terrible T-shirt, and for people who prefer their graphics on the subtle side, I think the Bullshit T-shirt is a great “gateway” graphic.

If you plan to buy an item from one of the other participating designers, what is it?

I can’t wait to pair one of our graphic T-shirts with a pair of wide leg pants from Adam Lippes and a cage bag from Anndra Neen.
