The CFDA has partnered with The Impression, the fashion publication and online destination that is a key resource for fashion creatives, and to launch and celebrate the union, there is a very special cover for the launch print issue, out this week.
On Friday, January 15, 44 of America’s top menswear designers – both established and emerging — gathered at Pier 59 to be photographed by Danny Clinch who is known for capturing the best of rock n’ roll. This time, he, with the creative director of The Impression founder Kenneth Richard, turned the lens on these designers – think rock stars of American style.
First to arrive: Dao-Yi Chow, followed quickly by Michael Kors, John Varvatos, Maxwell Osborne, Richard Chai, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville.
In the course of the day, almost everyone who is anyone in American menswear (who wasn’t out of town) showed up from Stuart Vevers to Billy Reid, Todd Snyder, Rio Uribe, Tim Coppens and Joseph Abboud. The resulting cover and the behind-the-scenes activity, seen in these pictures, reflects the energy of American menswear.
