The winners of the four American designer nominee categories were unveiled at the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards Presented by Amazon Fashion on Monday night.

American fashion legend, Ralph Lauren was named American Menswear Designer of the Year, with Matt Damon and Tremaine Emory presenting the award. The recognition followed Lauren’s American Womenswear Designer of the Year win in 2025, underscoring the enduring relevance of his vision and the extraordinary world he has built over more than five decades.

Rachel Scott continued her remarkable ascent, winning American Womenswear Designer of the Year for Diotima. Presented by Lupita Nyong’o and Francisco Costa, the award marked Scott’s second victory in the category, following her 2024 win. Known for her distinctive fusion of Jamaican craft traditions, sensuality, and sophisticated tailoring, Scott has established herself as one of the industry’s most compelling creative voices. Her latest honor comes as she continues to expand her influence as creative director of Proenza Schouler.

In accessories, Ana Khouri earned her first American Accessory Designer of the Year Award. Naomi Osaka and Joseph Altuzarra presented the honor to the New York-based jeweler, whose sculptural creations blur the boundaries between fine jewelry and contemporary art. The win marked a milestone for Khouri, whose distinctive approach to form and craftsmanship has made her a formidable presence in the category.

The future of American fashion was equally well represented by Colleen Allen, who received the Google American Emerging Designer of the Year Award from Cole Escola and Gabriela Hearst. The Brooklyn-based designer has quickly garnered attention for her imaginative, historically informed designs and distinctive romantic sensibility. Her win reaffirmed the importance of nurturing original voices and supporting the next generation of American talent.
