She charmed guests with her signature charisma and effortless eloquence — here are a few standout moments from her time as host.
Taylor’s intro:
“One day, I’ll be here accepting an award,” she began. “But until then, I’m your host. Good evening, beautiful people, and welcome to the 2025 Fashion Awards. Now listen—I have always loved fashion. I’m that girl who’s dressed for every occasion. Yes, I’m extra. I love a theme. The real reason I’m here tonight is because I’m scouting. I need someone to make me something for jury duty—Pieter, I know you’re doing some things at Alaïa.” she joked.
On wearing Thom Browne:
“One of the reasons I admire and respect this industry so much is because you all are crazy in the best possible way,” she said. “You dream big. Nothing is out of bounds. You bring people together. You unite the freaks and the dreamers. Like my man Thom Browne. No one does freak like him. Thom took a chance on me a few years ago. I didn’t have a stylist—I still don’t—and he dressed me for my first CFDAs back in 2019.”
On dreaming in fabric:
“Let’s celebrate the creators who make us dream in fabric, fight for the last sample, and pretend ‘archival’ means ‘still fits.’”
On sneaking in her own food:
“Don’t judge me,” she laughed. “Y’all know I’ll always sneak food into these kinds of events. When I want to enjoy my plate of collard greens, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, fried chicken, a little bit of yams, a little bit of everything—I’m bringing with me. Anna, listen, please don’t ban me! I feel like one day I will be. But I look good, I’m your host for the night, and honestly, I think my outfit makes up for it.”
Outro:
“And that’s a wrap, everybody,” she said. “Thank you to the designers, creators, and dreamers who keep this industry bold—and just the right amount of unhinged. Keep those clothes coming, send them to me for free. Good night, and good fashion.”
