Tanya Taylor, the CFDA member known for bright prints and bold colors, has always inspired her customers to ‘live in color.’ It only makes sense that the brand just announced a new partnership with Pantone, the global thought leader provider of professional color language standards and digital solutions around the world. Together, they are launching an exclusive ‘Color Therapy’ capsule collection designed to bring the therapeutic power of color into people’s daily lives.

As the COVID-19 epidemic has taken an especially hard toll on many individual’s mental health, Taylor and Pantone have come together to show the positive psychological impact that color – and fashion – can bring light during a dark time. The collection consists of three T-shirts for adults and children, highlighting three colors from the Pantone Fashion, Home, and Interiors palette: PANTONE 15-2913 Lilac Chiffon, PANTONE 18-3946 Baja Blue, and PANTONE 16-5721 Marine Green. The colors were chosen with the hope that the wearer will harness the emotions that Pantone Color Institute associates with each shade, based on their research: confidence, creativity, and calm, respectively.

“Pantone is the leader in color language, so we are thrilled to partner with them now to bring our shared belief in the power of color to life,” said Taylor said. “I’ve always believed in the positive psychological impact of color, and during this difficult time we saw the opportunity to further spread our colorful optimism to our community not only through the capsule, but also to children in need through the donation of face masks.”

The designer is also pledging 20 percent of net sales from the T-shirt capsule to support the creation and distribution of colorful cotton face masks to NYC public schools to help protect children resuming in person learning. This is facilitated by the Fund for Public Schools through its COVID-19 Response Effort. The reusable face masks, created using printed lining donated from childrenswear company Smiling Button, will be created for children aged 3- 12 and meant to bring empowerment, joy, and strength through their bright and therapeutic colors. In partnership with transportation network company Lyft, the masks will be distributed to up to 100 New York City public schools this fall. An initial round of 1,500 masks have been put into production ahead of the capsule launch and will be delivered to the first three schools beginning this month. In addition to purchasing items from the Color Therapy Capsule, the public can participate in the production of PPE for NYC public school students by making direct donations via TanyaTaylor.com at $5 per mask.
